I have heard it said that homosexuality is natural in nature and that in fact there are homosexual animals. The fact that there are homosexual animals may be at least partly true if one only judges by the actions of some dogs. Let us assume it is true and then ask, "does that make homosexuality acceptable conduct"?

The answer can only be no because if it is yes then the implication is that any so-called perversion in humans that is mirrored in animals is acceptable.

The fact is every trait of humans appears to exist in the animal kingdom from love and affection to willful acts of cruelty & killing other animals, killing or abandoning their young and more.

If a breeder of select animals had some that would not perform their mating but preferred to run or herd with animals of the same sex, they would likely destroy or neuter them because they just are not sexually normal. I’m not suggesting penalizing homosexuals nor in any way advocating violence as such is wrong legally and spiritually. I’m just emphasizing the abnormality and the illogic of attempts to make it normal or natural by fiat.

Plain and simple, homosexuality is a mental abnormality. Why mental? Because there is nothing physical about it. This is not to say that there are none who do not have a hormonal or physical disorder, but such is not claimed to exist in the 3 million or less homosexuals in this country. (Homosexuals claim a population percentage as high as !0%.)
Considering it a mental disorder only acknowledges that it is of the mind and not that it is on par with uncorrectable actual physical mental disorders.

The psychiatric & psychological professions have changed from the long established determination that homosexuality is a treatable mental disorder to now say that it is not. It is obvious this change is nothing more than so-called "political correctness" as there has been no change in the facts.
This abrogation of responsibility is a gross disservice to those of the homosexual compulsion. 

They say, very frequently, "I was born this way". That is correct in the sense that they are born either male or female and are physically endowed accordingly. The whole natural concept of mating involves mates of the opposite sex. In lower life forms there are asexual examples, but they are endowed with the organs to carry out the asexual reproduction. Among humans and higher animals there are males & females period.

So any claim to a natural physical relationship between two people of the same sex is physically impossible and deserves no credible consideration as "just another life style".

As has been stated many times, if homosexuality is acceptable as a lifestyle, especially including "marriage" or " spousal relationships", then what is not acceptable as a lifestyle?

Already we are told that relationships between male & female homosexuals, bisexuals and transgenders should be accepted as legally defined and socially accepted life styles. Why are pedo-philes excluded? The evidence is very strong that to turn away from pedo-philia is extremely difficult and in fact usually requires medication to somewhat restrain the perverted impulses.

So it seems the difference between pedo-philes and homosexuals is only the difference in the ages of their objects of affection, and of course the current level of social unacceptability.

If this concept makes any sense at all, in spite of the lack of any natural reason, then why is polygamy not also being considered. From a natural standpoint it makes more sense than the mental abnormality of homosexuality. Many animals live in packs or herds of females with a dominate male leader. If nature is demonstrating that homosexuality is natural because it exist among animals isn’t it also being demonstrated that polygamy is natural because it exist among animals?

If any unnatural relationship is elevated to some legal status and social recognition, then the lines are drawn by the unnatural majority to exclude the unnatural minority.

Homosexuals say "It is in our genes" and yet no such homosexual gene has been found. The same can be said about alcoholics, compulsive gamblers and other mental disorders. It may be that in time genes may be found that indicate a certain "tendency." Some women have a tendency toward more masculine traits just as some men have a tendency toward more feminine traits. This is only an indication of the diversity of characteristics and traits among humans. Environmental conditions that cause these tendencies to develop abnormally do not justify the creation or acceptance of alternative life styles.

The mental sciences have shown that people are born with many "tendencies" and some are criminally unacceptable if encouraged or allowed to develop to the worst extremes. For example one might have a tendency toward bodily violence, a desire to inflict harm to the bodies of others. Raised in a reasonably normal environment this tendency will be channeled or sublimated into healthy, socially acceptable occupations or avocations such as becoming a surgeon, meat processor, etc. These "tendencies" we have are responsible the normal diversity among us.

Evident treatable mental disorders such as homosexuality, pedo-philia, bestiality, alcoholism, compulsive disorders, etc., if permitted or encouraged to become "acceptable lifestyles" will degrade society to its lowest possible level. Acknowledging the abnormality of these conditions encourages research and development in treatment and adjustment. There should be no stigma or shame attached to such acknowledgment, as that can be just as wrong and damaging as rationalizing acceptance. The mental sciences do a great disservice to society when they bend to political correctness and discourage people with treatable mental abnormalities from seeking help in overcoming them.
